Mohsen Rezaei implicitly confirmed the clearing of the “Ali Al-Taher” hills in southern Lebanon

🔸Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, in an implicit reaction to Israeli officials’ announcement of their capture of the strategic “Ali Al-Taher” hills in southern Lebanon, without providing further details, said: “Israel, for reasons that we will explain later, has been able to take some places.”

🔸Military adviser Mojtaba Khamenei, the third leader of the Islamic Republic, in an interview that was broadcast on Iranian official television on Sunday, 15 Shahrivar, said: “War has ups and downs, and throughout history there has never been that it is always victories after victories or defeats after defeats in a war.”

🔸In recent days, the Israeli army, after announcing that it had gained control of the strategic heights of “Ali Al-Taher,” said that it had concluded the main phase of its operation to clear Hezbollah’s underground network in this area in southern Lebanon.

🔸The Ali Al-Taher heights are located about 15 kilometers from the Israel border and near Nabatieh, and overlook a large part of southern Lebanon from an altitude of around 600 meters. Lebanese security sources had previously said that Hezbollah in this area had established a subterranean command center and ammunition depots.

🔸In his latest remarks, Mohsen Rezaei also continued to claim Hezbollah’s “upper hand” in the war with Israel and said: “I am sure Lebanon will stand tall again. This time, great anger will set in, and it will not allow anything from Israel to remain.” He added that Lebanon is not like Gaza, which is “besieged from all sides” and “has rear areas.”

🔸In recent weeks, the “Ali Al-Taher” heights had become one of the most sensitive points of conflict between Israel and Hezbollah; a group that, in addition to Israel, the United States also considers a terrorist organization, while the European Union has only listed its military branch in the list of terrorist organizations.
