Mohsen Paknejad, Iran’s oil minister, says that in 1405 and with the beginning of the sea blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, despite the restrictions created, the process of “transporting and selling oil thousands of kilometers farther away from the Persian Gulf region was carried out.”

He says that during the hiatus created in the sea blockade of the Strait of Hormuz between 28 Khordad and 24 Tir, Iran made the most of it and moved a significant portion of its “oil to a place beyond the Sea of Oman,” where it would be possible to deliver the oil to a customer.

Mr. Paknejad describes the sea blockade of the Strait of Hormuz by the United States as “difficult and effective,” but in spite of this he emphasizes that Iran’s oil industry has not stopped and that, with the help of measures and solutions, it is trying to completely evade the sanctions.

The Iranian oil minister also said that during the 40-day war and U.S. attacks on more than “550 points,” the oil exports from Kharg Island—which does not have a large area—were not cut off “even for a moment.” Mr. Paknejad says, “Oil company personnel were loading ships under enemy bombings.”
