Joe Wilson, a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, wrote on the X social media platform: “The Houthis are foreign proxies and are dependent on Iran, and have nothing to do with the local people of Yemen.”

This U.S. congressman emphasized: “We will not allow the creation of a new Iran-linked terrorist colony on the shores of the Gulf of Aden.”

He referred to the draft “Liberating Yemen from Iran” and added that the draft “will support the efforts of the people of Yemen to liberate their country; including by providing security assistance to the government of Yemen and imposing new, tougher secondary sanctions on intermediaries, financial backers, and foreign countries that facilitate Houthi activities.”

Wilson added: “The cowardly Houthis hate the people of Yemen, and the people of Yemen also hate them. Like Bashar al-Assad, the ruthless dictator, they will also end up in the trash heap of history.”

He wrote: “Liberate Yemen from Iran.”
