As an Iranian oil tanker was attacked near Khark Island, a company analyst told VOA that the current maritime blockade is targeting oil loading as well

At the same time as an attack on an Iranian oil tanker in Khark Island, a company cargo-information analyst, Kpler, told Voice of America that, unlike the previous U.S. maritime blockade that had focused on preventing the export of Iranian oil to international markets, the current maritime blockade has also targeted oil loading.

According to Kpler’s estimates, in the first three weeks of August Iran had loaded 270,000 barrels of oil per day, but over the past two weeks, Iran’s oil loading has also been disrupted.

Meanwhile, the organization “Alliance Against Nuclear Iran” has reported, by publishing satellite images, that 14 tankers carrying Iranian oil and mazut have anchored in the east of Khark, but no new oil loading is being carried out.

Since mid-July, Iran has been unable to pass any oil shipment through the U.S. maritime blockade line, and at present 51 tankers carrying oil, gas condensates and liquefied gas, LPG, are stuck in the southern waters of Iran.
