According to Chinese state media, this country for the first time successfully landed a reusable-capable rocket, which is considered a major step forward for the country’s space program.

The China Academy of Space Technology announced that the “Long March 10B” rocket was launched from Hainan in southern China on Friday at 12:15 p.m. local time.

Previously, the reusability of rockets was limited to the companies SpaceX, Elon Musk’s company, and Blue Origin, owned by Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon. Now, by carrying out this successful test, China can challenge the United States’ advantage in reusable rockets.

In December 2015, SpaceX for the first time landed a reusable Falcon 9 rocket, and then in November 2025, the New Glenn rocket from Blue Origin was brought to the ground.

The Falcon 9 is now launched about 150 times per year with engines that are capable of being used dozens of times.
