Abdolreza Farahdian, Mohammadbaqer Khazaei’s lawyer, secretary-general of Hezbollah Iran, said the long duration of his client’s detention has raised concerns among his family and close associates, and he urged judicial officials to convert the detention order.
Khazaei’s case was opened following his claims about the president and the leader of the Islamic Republic.
He claimed that Masoud Pezeshkian had resigned 28 times, written resignation letters, or threatened to step down.
Khazaei then provided a account of Majtaba Khamenei’s reaction and said the leader of the Islamic Republic had sent a message to the president that if he resigns “one more time,” this time his resignation would be accepted.
Majtaba Khamenei’s office and Pezeshkian’s office denied these claims.
After the denial by the leader’s office, Khazaei called on his supporters to take to the streets to back the leader and overthrow the Pezeshkian government.
Khazaei has a family relationship with the leader of the Islamic Republic, and his sister is married to Masoud Khamenei, one of Ali Khamenei’s sons.
