A group of Iranians in Calgary gathered beside the memorial tree of Kian Pirfalck and, by lighting candles, paid tribute to her and to other victims of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” uprising.
The ceremony is part of the “Mahsa Week” program, which is held with the aim of commemorating the victims and expressing solidarity with the people of Iran.
Those present said that the growth of the memorial tree of Kian Pirfalck is a symbol of the deep-rootedness of the desire for freedom; a desire, they said, that has continued from the “Woman, Life, Freedom” uprising to the national uprising and the “Iranian National Revolution.”
