🔶 U.S. Treasury Secretary: No one should support the Iranian government

Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, announced the intensification of economic pressure on Iran and said Washington intends to further financially isolate the Iranian government.

In an interview with Fox News, Bessent said that the message from the United States to others is to “keep away from Iran”: “No one should support this government.”

He said that airline companies, shipping companies, and digital assets could be among the targets of U.S. sanctions.

The U.S. Treasury Secretary warned that Washington will engage with any individual or entity that helps Iran. He did not provide further details about these engagements or potential sanctions.

In another part of the interview, Bessent said that the Iranian government, in the way it has been known so far, “has reached the end,” and emphasized that the United States will continue economic pressure.

He said the goal of Washington with these pressures and Iran’s financial isolation is to force the Islamic Republic to stop supporting proxy groups and to completely drop the country’s nuclear program.
