🔻Pakistan: We hope Iran and the United States return to the negotiating table

The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it still hopes that Iran and the United States will return to the negotiating table.

According to Reuters, Pakistan’s foreign ministry said that a visit by Field Marshal Aasim Munir, the chief of staff of Pakistan’s armed forces, to Tehran “created a notable acceleration in the process of opening or advancing the matter of the Strait of Hormuz.”

Pakistan is mediating a ceasefire between Iran and the United States and the Islamabad agreement.

Both Iran and the United States say the agreement has been violated and that they are no longer bound by its provisions.

Iran has said that if the United States resumes implementing it, it will carry out the Islamabad agreement.
