🔶 South Korea says it is considering “participation” in ensuring security in the Strait of Hormuz

South Korea announced on Friday, September 4 (Shahrivar 13), that it is reviewing “participation” in the United States’ efforts to support freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, provided that this does not affect the country’s military readiness.

According to a report by Agence France-Presse, one official from the office of the South Korean presidency told reporters: “Participation in missions related to the Strait of Hormuz can be managed within a framework that does not harm the country’s military readiness.”

The South Korean official, however, stressed that Seoul has not yet made any decision on the matter.
