🔸Qatar’s foreign ministry spokesperson said in a meeting in Abu Dhabi on Monday, 16 Shahrivar: «Iran’s war showed that the Gulf Arab countries should not rely for their security solely on strategic cooperation with the United States.»

🔸According to Reuters, Majed Al Ansari said: «We must understand in the Gulf that having international forces in the region and having a strategic alliance with the United States is very important, but it is not enough.»

🔸The Qatar foreign ministry spokesperson said: «Self-sufficiency in security is the only way forward.»

🔸Despite having warm relations with the Iranian government, Qatar has repeatedly been targeted by Iran’s retaliatory attacks during the recent war. The country hosts one of the largest U.S. Army military bases in the region.
