🔶 Pete Hegseth: Iran made a bad choice and must now pay the price
Following an unprecedented escalation in military tensions between Washington and Tehran in the Persian Gulf, the U.S. (Defense) Secretary of Defense reacted to Iran’s recent actions in a short and firm message.
Pete Hegseth wrote on his X social media account: “Iran made a bad choice. Now they will have to pay the price.”
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the U.S. military has begun a new round of attacks on Iran in response to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ statement claiming an attack on a vessel and the closure of this waterway until further notice.
CENTCOM added: “After being given another chance to demonstrate its commitment to the agreement, once it had become accountable for previous attacks on commercial ships, Iran again failed. In response, the United States will continue to impose a heavy cost on Iran by further weakening its ability to attack non-military mariners and commercial vessels that pass freely through the Strait.”
