Oil prices on Monday, 16 Shahrivar 1405, rose following reciprocal attacks by the United States and Iran on ships in the Strait of Hormuz and other areas; attacks that have increased concerns about a prolonged disruption to oil supply from the Middle East.

Reuters reported this morning that the price of Brent crude oil futures, as of 5:12 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time, rose by 79 cents, or 0.82%, to $97.07 per barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil was also up by 80 cents, or 0.87%, trading at $92.28.
