The Israeli army said that two operational members of the Palestinian groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad were killed in the course of two separate operations in the Gaza Strip.
According to the Israeli army, Sabahiy Al-Hashim Al-Batiriyi, a member of Islamic Jihad, was targeted on Monday morning in the Shati area. Israel says he was involved in preparing and planting bombs against the forces of this country’s army.
Also, in an operation carried out a few days earlier, Ahmad Fuad Khalil Khals, a member of the elite unit of Hamas’s military wing, was killed. The Israeli army also introduced him as an active participant in an explosive operation against its forces.
Based on the statement, both people had a role in the recent period in planning attacks against Israeli forces and in violating the ceasefire, and were targeted with the aim of “eliminating an immediate threat.”
The Israeli army emphasized that the forces of the Southern Command remain deployed in the Gaza Strip and that operations against security threats will continue.
