🔻Iranian Red Crescent says it will hold a meeting with the Red Cross about the condition of Iranian pilots
Raziyeh Aalishvandi, the International Affairs Deputy of the Iranian Red Crescent, said that a meeting would be held with the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross to “clarify the situation of Iranian pilots in a transparent manner.”
Ms. Aalishvandi said that the Iranian Red Crescent’s “ongoing follow-ups” with the Red Cross in Tehran have, so far, yielded no results.
She said that a meeting would also be requested with the Qatar Red Crescent Society to conduct negotiations.
Earlier, Mohammad Bagherzadeh, commander of the Missing Persons Search Committee of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran, had said that three Iranian pilots are being held in Qatar.
Qatar rejected the claim and the country’s foreign ministry spokesperson had said that two Iranian fighter jets were targeted after violating Qatar’s airspace and the pilots not responding to messages, and that Qatar teams had only found remains of one of the pilots.
