The Instagram page of the German Embassy in Tehran, on Wednesday, 25 Shahrivar, published a post commemorating the fourth anniversary of the state killing of Mahsa Zhina Amini.

On the same occasion, the U.S. Jewish Committee also wrote that she died in a hospital in Tehran after being detained by the “Guidance Patrol” for what was described as not observing the hijab.

The organization, referring to reports from witnesses about Mahsa Zhina Amini being beaten while in custody, wrote that her death became a global symbol of the suppression of women and of human rights violations by the Islamic Republic, and helped give rise to the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement in Iran and across the world.

The U.S. Jewish Committee added: “Mahsa’s story set a movement in motion. We will continue to speak her name and stand alongside those who fight for freedom in Iran.”
