Hope Shams, a lawyer and international affairs analyst, said about the passage of a new law in Britain to impose tougher sanctions against the Islamic Republic: “These sanctions are as much a clear message to the Islamic Republic as they are a clear message to the United States, and they indicate London’s alignment with the United States’ ‘economic exclusion’ policy. Britain announces that although it has no intention of taking part in a military campaign, it is fully prepared to join the economic campaign against the Islamic Republic.”
