Bloomberg, citing informed sources, reported that Britain and Turkey are expected to sign a security and defense cooperation pact on the sidelines of a NATO summit in Ankara. The agreement is scheduled to coincide with a visit by Keir Starmer, the UK prime minister, and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the president of Turkey. According to the report, the cooperation between the two countries will include countering cyber threats, combating terrorism, and defense industries. The agreement follows on from London and Ankara’s defense cooperation, including the sale of 20 Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets to Turkey. Turkey is also seeking to buy F-35 aircraft from the United States.
