U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday, 11 Shahrivar (2 September) that the United States has dealt Iran a “very hard blow” in the renewed attacks this week, but added that he does not expect the bombing campaign to become “very much longer.”

Speaking to reporters in the White House Oval Office, Trump said: “Last night (10 Shahrivar) there was a very heavy attack, and whenever we want to carry out another attack we’re ready.”

In response to a question about how long this new operation would continue, he said: “I don’t think it will be too long.”

At the beginning of the interview, one of the reporters referred to a new post by Trump on Truth Social, in which the U.S. president wrote: “When are the people of Iran going to rise up and fight?” The reporter then asked Trump whether, if that is really something he wants, he would send the CIA to arm Iranians.

In response, Donald Trump said: “I’d like to say it, but it’s not right to say it.”
