🔶 Trump approved Netanyahu’s trip to the United States next week
In a speech at a White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, Donald Trump, the U.S. president, announced that Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, will travel to the United States next week.
Earlier, The Times of Israel had reported that Netanyahu would meet Trump at the White House on Tuesday, 6 Mordad (28 July).
Netanyahu’s trip to Washington takes place at the height of tensions between the United States and the Islamic Republic. Israel and the United States have cooperated with one another in the war against Iran both last year and this year.
Israel is not participating in the latest wave of U.S. attacks on the IRGC’s headquarters and Iranian military facilities; however, officials from the country have repeatedly announced readiness to cooperate in operations carried out by U.S. forces.
