The “Eslah” security system, which was set up to identify and monitor Iranians opposed to the Islamic Republic outside the country, has now also become unavailable inside Iran after reports of disruptions to access to it in several countries.

An investigation by Radio Farda into access to this website from within Iran on Thursday, 26 Shahrivar, shows that when users try to visit it, they encounter a security certificate error and the site does not load.

The operators of “Eslah” also confirmed that the website is unavailable in their channel on the messenger app “Bale.”

In their statement, they attributed this situation at the same time to “the high volume of visits” by users and “cyberattacks,” and said that the site’s technical team has temporarily been taken offline.

No independent technical evidence has been published for these claims.

This system, which government-linked Iranian media have reported on since the start of its activity in recent days, asks users to send information about Iranians opposed to the government abroad.

The operators of this system refer to targeted individuals as “separatists abroad” (خائنان خارج‌نشین) and say they will continuously monitor the activities of people who are identified as “anti-Iran” or promoters and defenders of sanctions and military attack.

Radio Farda had reported on Wednesday that the website was taken offline in several countries just one day after its official introduction.
