🔸Tehran’s governor says the province is ready in terms of educational space and provision of human resources to reopen schools on Mehr 1, and urged the “all relevant agencies” to provide the necessary conditions for the school year to begin without interruption.

🔸Mohammad Sadegh Mokhtadyan also said on Thursday, 19 Shahrivar, that no service-providing agency should cut off schools’ utilities due to financial demands or administrative issues.

🔸He also called for the return of buildings and educational spaces belonging to the Ministry of Education that have been placed at the disposal of other agencies.

🔸The Ministry of Education had previously announced that around 125,000 schools across Iran would reopen in person from Mehr 1.

🔸Schools across Iran were closed or shifted to remote learning at the start of the 40-day war in late Esfand last year.

🔸Despite the ceasefire being established on 19 Farvardin, in-person education was not resumed, and officials of the Islamic Republic announced that schools would remain closed to in-person learning until further notice—an arrangement that effectively continued until the end of the school year.
