TankerTracers, an independent ship-tracking organization, announced that the oil tanker that U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) had introduced under the name “Lavin” and the flag of Mozambique is actually called “Disha.”
CENTCOM had previously said that U.S. forces, after the tanker tried to violate the U.S. maritime blockade and did not heed the warnings, targeted its engine room and disabled the ship.
According to TankerTracers, this sanctioned tanker had previously carried Iran’s liquefied petroleum gas to the Houthis in Yemen.
The Federation of Indian Seafarers also said that all 28 Indian sailors on the ship are safe.
