🔻Raphael Lausanne, president of the Spanish football federation, said that an agreement to extend the contract of Luis de la Fuente, head coach of the Spain national team, until the 2030 World Cup is on the verge of being finalized. The new contract would place the coach of the Euro 2024 and 2026 World Cup champions among the five highest-paid national team coaches in the world.
🔹De la Fuente has a contract with the Spain national team until 2028, and his new contract will be extended until the 2030 World Cup.
🔹According to Marca, Lausanne said: “We have the best coach in the history of the national team, and the results confirm this. The people of Spain love him and admire him. As was to be expected, I offered him an extension and an improvement to his contract, because in terms of financial conditions, even among the top 10 coaches, he was not there. Now he is supposed to be part of that group.”
🔹The new contract of De la Fuente, Spain’s current coach who has won European and world titles, will place him among the five highest-paid national team coaches in the world—an achievement he did not come close to having at the time of the World Cup.
🔹De la Fuente has, to date, three titles in his record: the 2023 UEFA Nations League, Euro 2024, and the 2026 World Cup.
