Mohammad-Taqi Naqdali, a member of Khomeinishahr in the parliament, told Iran Watch: “The basis of the government’s approach is retreat and giving in. In the case of hijab, they did the same. Because they did not want unrest and for those few to not protest, they backed away from the fundamentals of religion, and now we have reached from unveiledness to nakedness, from nakedness to promiscuity, and from promiscuity to a nowhere that government officials know better.”

This parliament member added: “The government has bypassed the Supreme Council of Cyberspace by setting up an unlawful task force, has not issued the law on chastity and hijab, and in many cases carries out its work with methods that are unreasonable and unlawful.”

He added: “The bill to counter infiltration is also among the necessary matters, and hijab is one of the slogans and principles of the revolution, which we are pursuing.”
