Mizan News Agency, affiliated with the Judiciary, said on Sunday that the death sentences of Urfan Esfandiyari and Gol-Mohammad Mohamdi, two young men accused in the so-called Aliqhani Square case in Isfahan, were carried out in the early hours of that day.

Last week, a committee monitoring the status of detainees in Iran had warned that the death sentences of 12 people in Isfahan, in the so-called “Aliqhani Square” case in that city, had been “approved” by the Supreme Court.

Among those 12 people—some of whom had been sentenced to execution two, three, and even four times—there are several teenagers and an Afghan citizen as well. According to reports, Gol-Mohammad Mohamdi was an Afghan citizen.
