🔸Iran’s Oil Ministry said on Saturday, 3 Mordad, that during the war and the subsequent ceasefire with the United States, Iran sold a total of $18 billion worth of oil.
🔸The ministry, in a statement published on its official website, said: “The Ministry of Oil sold $11.5 billion worth of oil during the war and $6.5 billion during the ceasefire period.” This ceasefire collapsed earlier this month.
🔸The statement added: “In the midst of the crisis, this figure covers more than 60% of the oil revenues forecast in the annual budget.”
🔸This comes as Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and Iran’s chief negotiator, had said in late June that during the U.S. blockade of its ports, Iran had been unable to export any oil.
