The campaign “Return Our Families Home” on the X social network called on the Government of the Islamic Republic and the United States government to “take the necessary steps to free Reza Valizadeh, an American citizen, from Evin Prison.”

The campaign wrote: “This small, low-cost action would demonstrate good will by returning a son to his elderly father and mother.”

The “Return Our Families Home” campaign is made up of members of the families of “American hostages and unlawfully detained detainees.”

Valizadeh returned to Iran on 16 Esfand 1402, and after arrest and interrogation by the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officers, he was transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence detention center, known as Section 209 of Evin Prison, where he had been held.

He was sentenced by the Islamic Revolutionary Court to 10 years in prison, a ban on residing in Tehran province and neighboring provinces, a ban on leaving the country, and a ban on membership in parties, groups, and political-social organizations for two years.
