Anita Anand, Canada’s foreign minister, said that threats by the Islamic Republic in the Strait of Hormuz, illegal nuclear activities, and Tehran’s support for proxy groups in the region continue to undermine global peace and security and must be brought to an end.
In a post on the X social network, Anand referred to her joint statement with François-Philippe Champagne, Canada’s finance minister, and wrote: “We outlined the range of actions Canada has taken, in cooperation with our partners, to maintain pressure on Iran, including sanctions and efforts to disrupt Iran’s ability to finance terrorist activities.”
The Canadian foreign minister emphasized that Ottawa will continue to exert pressure on the Islamic Republic in cooperation with its partners.
