🔻Ali Zarei, a political prisoner and one of the eye injury victims of the 2021 protests, said in an audio message that his death sentence has been upheld by the court and asked the public and human rights groups not to allow him to be executed.

In this message, Mr. Zarei said that in 2022 he was detained in solitary confinement for sixty days and was released after posting a bail of five billion tomans.

After his release, he went to Germany for treatment for his eye, but in May this year, after returning to Iran, he was arrested.

Iran’s judiciary has sentenced him to death on the charge of corruption on earth.

He was also denied the right to have a lawyer.

In this audio file from Qezel Hesar Prison, Mr. Zarei emphasized that he has always been loyal to the people of Iran, and that he has carried out no terrorist or violent activities against the people.
