Donald Trump, the president of the United States, said that he believes the current leaders of the Islamic Republic are more reasonable than the two previous tiers of leaders who were killed, but that the approach they have adopted does not serve the Iranian people—especially after missile launches during the time when the United States had given them an opportunity to hold the funeral for Ali Khamenei.

President Trump, who was in Turkey at a NATO press conference together with senior members of his cabinet, told reporters that he is “not sure” whether he will reach an agreement with the current leaders of the Islamic Republic.
