🔹 Also, the Persian Gulf Half Marathon, which was supposed to be held on 27 Dey on Kish Island along the 4, 10 and 21 kilometer routes, was canceled before being held. This was while the holding of the Kish Marathon in Azar 1404 had many controversies, and its organizers were arrested by security officials in Iran.

🔹 The Kish Marathon, which came with many controversies, drew the reaction of people such as Masoud Pezeshkian, the head of the government of the Islamic Republic, Ali Motahari, the former member of parliament, and Hossein Shariatmadari, Ali Khamenei’s representative in the Kayhan newspaper, with nearly 5,000 runners and athletes participating in that marathon.

🔹 Masoud Pezeshkian, the head of the government of the Islamic Republic, in response to the controversies of the Kish Marathon, said in a meeting of the cabinet: «We are not only not in favor of these abnormalities, but we are also seriously against them; however, the issue is how and in what manner to deal with these abnormalities.»
