U.S. fighter jets based in the UK and Germany are being deployed to the Middle East.

A U.S. official told ABC that the jets include F-16s based in Germany and F-35s based in the UK.

There are currently 50,000 U.S. military personnel stationed in the Middle East.

Earlier flight-tracker data showed that at least 12 F-16s from the Spangdahlem base in Germany were moving toward the Al Muwaffaq al-Salt Air Base in Jordan. This is the same base where, in an attack by the Islamic Republic on Friday, two U.S. servicemembers were killed.

The U.S. Central Command has announced that attacks on Islamic Republic military targets have continued for the ninth consecutive night.
