The EU’s foreign policy chief said Israel’s expansion of settlements in the West Bank “undermines the prospects of a two-state solution.”

Kaja Kallas wrote on X on Tuesday: “Britain and 11 other countries today announced their support for trade sanctions against illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank. All EU member states agree that Israeli settlements in the West Bank are illegal under international law.”

Kallas added that the European Union remains the largest humanitarian donor to Gaza and the West Bank.

She said: “We are firmly committed to supporting comprehensive, just, and lasting peace based on the two-state solution; two states that live side by side in peace, in secure and recognized borders.”
