The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic announced that it has received proposals through mediators. The remarks were made amid military tensions between the United States and the Islamic Republic.
Ismail Baghaei, on Monday, at a press conference, said that the foreign policy apparatus of the Islamic Republic “is moving in step and in line” with the armed forces to carry out its “duties.”
Without providing details, he added: “The core issue—that in these days ideas from some mediators have been conveyed to the Islamic Republic—is confirmed.”
Earlier, Donald Trump, President of the United States, defended the continuation of military operations against the Iranian government and warned that if the Islamic Republic does not stop, the region could enter a broader conflict.
Marko Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, has also said that the Islamic Republic is using the Strait of Hormuz in the current conflict in the Middle East as leverage.
