🔶 Houthi: Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities are among our options for attack

The Houthis in Yemen, which receive support from Iran, have threatened that if tensions continue, they could target Saudi Arabia’s oil and economic facilities.

Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported—citing a Houthi official—that they will adopt the policy of “siege for siege” (maritime and aerial) and “escalation for escalation” in response to the current tensions with Saudi Arabia.

According to the report, Abdullah al-Basri, who was introduced as the “deputy foreign minister of the government of Sana’a,” warned that if the siege and Saudi attacks continue, the Houthis will give a “comprehensive, harsh and powerful” response, and that Saudi oil and economic facilities will be among the likely targets.

He accused Riyadh of “not meeting its humanitarian and economic commitments” toward the Houthis during the four-year period of a ceasefire and said: “The period of neither war nor peace is over.”

Earlier, Reuters had reported that Iran had asked the Houthis in Yemen to prepare to close the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
