🔻Hassan Jafari, head of public relations at Mashhad Hashemi-Nejad Airport, said that in the incident of the flight from Mashhad to Kermanshah, «no one was harmed.»

The Monday evening 23 Shahrivar flight from Mashhad to Kermanshah operated by Sepahan Air became an emergency situation moments after taking off from the Hashemi-Nejad Airport runway and returned to the airport. Before takeoff, this flight was delayed «twice» as well.

Mr. Jafari said the cause of the emergency situation was «the detachment of the aircraft tire tread.»

In a video released from the tense moments of the incident, the aircraft’s ceiling (upper structure) has a problem, and passengers and the flight crew try to control the situation.

The airport public relations manager said that after completing the flight, the pilot also informed the control tower that «the engine is in an emergency status» and the aircraft returned to the airport.

He added that passengers went to Kermanshah with a «replacement flight.»

He said: «Yesterday the flight from Mashhad to Kermanshah was cancelled twice due to the occurrence of a technical fault. In the third attempt, because of the occurrence of the same technical fault again, this incident happened immediately and the aircraft was replaced right away, and ultimately in the fourth time, and in the second aircraft replacement, the passengers arrived at their destination with complete health.»
