Germany’s foreign minister said on Wednesday that the European Union is working in the coming weeks on imposing additional sanctions against individuals from Russia.
In statements on the sidelines of an EU meeting in Ireland, Johann Werdvhol said: “The European Union has imposed extensive sanctions on Russia, but we will certainly continue working in the coming weeks on imposing sanctions on individuals.”
On Tuesday, Werdvhol announced a series of Germany’s actions against Russia. According to what he said, the Russian consulate in Bonn will be closed toward the end of this month, and the lease for the cultural center “House of Russia” in Berlin will be canceled.
He added: “We will make entry controls for Russian nationals more stringent.”
