🔻 Egypt condemns Iran’s attacks on Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Friday evening, by issuing a statement, described Iran’s attacks on Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait as an “overt violation of the sovereignty of these countries” and “a dangerous escalation of tensions” that threatens regional security and stability.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that the attacks are at odds with international law and the UN Charter.
The statement was published an hour after a phone call between Abbas Araqchi and Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s foreign minister.
In its statement, the Egyptian government emphasized its full solidarity with Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait, and said that it would fully support any action that these countries take to preserve their security and stability and to support the interests of their peoples.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it strongly opposes any type of attack on civilian facilities and vital infrastructure, and any kind of action that endangers the security of civilians.
Egypt stressed the need to respect the sovereignty of states and to observe the principles of good neighborliness.
Today, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported attacks on U.S. bases in Kuwait and Bahrain. Yesterday, a Kuwait-Iraq border crossing was targeted by drone attacks.
