BRICS reached an agreement on a joint statement that is unlikely to name any country separately, but it condemns every instance of unilateral war.
Reuters reported this news, citing four sources, and wrote that representatives of member countries focused on bridging the gap between Iran and the United Arab Emirates, which are on opposite sides of the conflict in the Persian Gulf, in order to produce a consensus statement.
BRICS includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates, and its annual meeting in New Delhi is currently underway.
The leaders of the countries are expected to approve the statement today, Saturday.
