Following a threat from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the UK Ministry of Defence announced that this country is fully prepared to counter threats and possible attacks, on a 24/7 basis.

Earlier, the Islamic Republic had threatened that any country that makes its base available to US forces will be a legitimate target for attack.
