The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources, reported that the United States, while reviewing the expansion of the war with the Islamic Republic, is sending troops, medical personnel, and military equipment to the Middle East.

According to this report, last week U.S. special operations forces were deployed to the region, more fighter jets were stationed at Middle East bases, and U.S. bombers at bases in the United States and Britain were placed on standby so that, if needed, they could expand their operations.

The Wall Street Journal wrote that these moves came after the killing of three U.S. service members in an attack attributed to the Islamic Republic on a military base in Jordan.
