Rouhollah Rahimpour, a journalist and political analyst, said, with reference to Oman’s efforts to hold a meeting of foreign ministers of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Islamic Republic, that if this meeting is held, it should be considered an effort by Gulf states to turn the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz from a direct confrontation between the Islamic Republic and the United States into a regional issue that is manageable.
