Reuters: Travel of several IRGC commanders and a military adviser from Iran to Yemen to train the Houthis

🔸Reuters reported Thursday, in an exclusive report citing four sources whose names it did not disclose, that several IRGC commanders and a military adviser, along with weapons and equipment related to missiles and drones, have been transferred from Iran to Yemen.

🔸Two sources in Iran told Reuters that between 10 and 21 IRGC personnel, including several senior commanders, went to Yemen 10 days ago, on July 13, on a Mahan Air flight.

🔸The news agency described the purpose of the trip of these forces as “supporting and strengthening the Houthis and training them in the use of new missile systems.” The Mahan Air flight also carried a gold consignment to cover the costs of the Houthis’ fighting.

🔸Amid a prolonged funeral procession for Ali Khamenei, reports were published indicating that Iran was trying to carry out a direct flight from Sana’a to Tehran in order to transfer a number of Houthis to Ali Khamenei’s funeral ceremony.

🔸At the same time, a military spokesperson for the Houthis claimed that the group’s forces had confronted Saudi fighter jets that intended to prevent the landing of an Iranian civilian aircraft at Sana’a airport, and emphasized that flights between Sana’a and Tehran would continue.

🔸The Mahan Air flight landed in the port of Hodeidah four days after this incident.

🔸U.S. President Donald Trump, on Thursday in a new message on his social media account, threatened that the Islamic Republic would be held responsible for any threatening actions by the Shiite Houthis of Yemen.

🔸Early Thursday morning, the Houthis claimed an attack on two Saudi oil tankers. The group identified the two tankers as “Enselia” and “Lilya” and claimed that these vessels had violated the naval blockade imposed by the group.
