U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with each other on the sidelines of the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) foreign ministers meeting in Pasay, Manila, Philippines.

Before this meeting, Rubio had said that Washington is seeking to play a constructive role in ending the war, and that he is expected to discuss the war in Ukraine with his Russian counterpart.
