Prisoners of Unit 2 of Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj spent the twelfth day of their hunger strike in protest against the execution of death sentences. Reports from inside the prison indicate severe physical weakness, low blood pressure, and a decline in the physical capacity of some of the hunger strikers.

In a statement issued by these prisoners, it is said that around 1,500 prisoners, despite being aware of the risks posed by a dry hunger strike, continued their strike in protest against what they called the “death cycle” and the “machinery of mass killing.”

The signatories of the statement asked human rights organizations, international institutions, the UN Special Rapporteurs, and “wakeful consciences of the world” to support the strike through concrete action to immediately stop the implementation of death sentences. At the end, they once again stressed the demand of “No to execution.”
