Pogah Bani Hashemi, senior legal researcher, said that referring to a list of 100 detained protesters who have been sentenced to death, many of these individuals had been denied the right to access their chosen lawyer, and the process of handling their cases had not been transparent and compliant with the principles of a fair trial.
She also stressed that individuals who were under 18 years old at the time the offense occurred should, under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, not face the death penalty.
