🔻 Ismail Baqaei, Spokesman of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said during his press conference on Monday, 23 Shahrivar, that passenger travel from Iran’s land borders with Iraq has resumed, and commercial traffic will also be restored in the coming days.

Mr. Baqaei said: “Regardless of the reasons for the closure of the Shalamcheh and Chazabeh borders, what matters is that the work is underway... Passenger and pilgrim travel has begun, and within the next one or two days, with regard to commercial matters as well, the situation is expected to return to normal.”

After a drone attack on the East–West oil pipeline of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, having identified the origin of this attack on its own soil, closed these corridors on Saturday (21 Shahrivar).

Regarding the visa waiver for Mohammad Islami, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, to attend a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, the spokesman of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “That Austria, under pressure from the United States, did not deny Dr. Islami a visa in no way removes the responsibility of the host government.”
