🔶 Historical record; the dollar in Iran surpassed 230,000 toman
The value of Iran’s rial reached its lowest historical level. In a Telegram channel called “Civil Protest of the Market,” on Wednesday, 18 Shahrivar (September 9), the rate of the US dollar was announced as 230,300 toman.
Based on the data published in this channel, the euro was priced at 267,860 toman, the Canadian dollar at 170,860 toman, and the UAE dirham at 63,250 toman.
Placing the dollar in the 230,000 toman range could increase the cost of importing goods and raw materials, and put more pressure on prices and people’s purchasing power.
The continuous decline in the value of the national currency indicates that Iran’s economic situation has worsened. Economic experts warn that the continued fall of the rial’s value could flare up protests in the market again.
