🔸U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone conversation on Tuesday, 24 Shahrivar, with Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman.
🔸The U.S. State Department announced that during the call, Rubio thanked Oman for its important role in reducing tensions in the region, and condemned Iran’s recent attacks on commercial vessels and the countries of the region.
🔸The U.S. foreign minister again emphasized the United States’ commitment to preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons and ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
🔸Earlier, Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported in a statement that in the phone call between the foreign ministers of the United States and Oman, the parties discussed “the latest developments in the region and the successive changes in the region,” and shared their views on “providing the right conditions for the continuation of diplomatic efforts and addressing unresolved issues.”
